Hills Umpiring

How The Hills Club Umpiring works…

How…

The Hills Club has a healthy number of Umpires, currently managed by Ron Moye as Chairman of Umpires. From the Bowls Calendar, a listing of events requiring Umpires is created & posted for Umpires to nominate the events they wish to cover.

The Hills Club Umpires are remunerated $30 (Club cash) for each morning or afternoon officiating session they oversee. Quarterly Club Umpire meetings are arranged to assist in keeping everyone abreast of Club, Zone or Bowls NSW officiating matters.

Why…

Knowledge of the Laws of Bowls & an understanding of measuring methods is essential for any bowler to get the most from their games. Becoming an Accredited Umpire is the next step & is beneficial to the bowler & their club (ie a true “win/win” situation for all).

An Umpire Accreditation system is in place to provide training & qualifications (the course being conducted over 1 to 2 days), through the Zone or Bowls NSW bodies.
